Being the youngest daughter of a Country Legend must come with huge expectation, already having a strongly established reputation as a Banjo player would ease some of the pressure but expectation none the less . You could also imagine that living a life surrounded by influential people and enjoying a lifestyle some can only dream of, that she may not be as grounded as most. Well what a pleasant surprise to yet again find another person living in the spotlight of the Country music scene to be gracious, courteous and very down to earth.
Having released two previous singles both surrounding her father, ‘Remembering’ for the Glen Campbell documentary ‘I’ll Be Me’ in 2015 and in 2016 a cover of ‘Wichita Lineman’ Ashley was in the midst of recording her album when her father lost his long time battle with Alzheimer’s sadly passing away on the 8th of August 2017.
Ashley’s debut album ‘The Lonely One’ is due for release in March 2018 and as with a lot of things in the country genre it has very much been a family affair. Working closely with her brothers Shannon and Cal between them they have produced, played and written the album. The lead off track “A New Year” is available now and Ashley describes it as “Finding yourself and finding that person that makes you want to be a better person and turn over a new leaf”
